4-H

Texas 4-H is for kids of almost any age. Grades from 3rd-12th are regular 4-H members while grades K-2 can join as Clover Kids (as of September 1 of current school year).

You may think 4-H is only for your friends with animals, but it’s so much more! You can do activities like shooting sports, food science, healthy living, robotics, fashion, and photography.

In 4-H, the activities are organized by topics and called ‘projects.’ All 4-H members must be enrolled in at least one project. When you choose a project, you will learn everything there is to know about that topic. You will participate in various hands-on activities, learn new skills, do community service, or even make speeches about your project.

2023-2024 State Level Project Travel Compensation

This year, the Panola ALPA (Adult Leaders and Parents Association) would like to award Panola County 4-Hers who are traveling to compete at any STATE LEVEL contest.  This $50 sponsorship will be available to any currently enrolled 4-Her who is in good standing with their club and can be issued only once per 4-H year (September 1st – August 31st).

To qualify for this award, the 4-Her must meet the below criteria and submit the request form to the Extension Office to be processed.  Please allow up to 2 weeks for our volunteers to process your request. Forms can be turned into the office or emailed. Emails can be found under the contact page!

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Panola County 4-H club and in good standing.
  • Must be registered to compete through 4-H in a STATE LEVEL contest.  This can be any contest that the 4-Her has advanced to from the county or district level or any major livestock show or fair that is open to any 4-Her in the state.  The contest will not be a qualifying event if the 4-Her is registered for the contest through another organization (such as FFA).
